AXA et al vs. Thomas & Betts et al.--Firm partners Caleb Didriksen and Diane Cosenza obtained an over $100 million subrogation judgment not withstanding the verdict from the District Court in St. James Parish, Louisiana.  The subrogation suit brought by the firm arose from the Kaiser Alumina plant explosion in 1999.  The trial followed months of intensive discovery and the recovery by settlement of over 60 million dollars in favor of Didriksen's clients and Kaiser.  The jury failed to hold Thomas & Betts liable, but the judge disagreed and granted a JNOV.  The firm represented the Reinsurers of Kaiser, who had paid Kaiser over 300 million dollars for property damage and business interruption losses. The JNOV was later reversed on appeal.
